Miles Lionel Calebs
Name: Miles Lionel Calebs
Nickname: He doesn't have any. Just Miles.
Gender: Male
Age: 25 years of age.
Home Region: Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh
Class: Trainer
Position: Region Champion
Description: Miles is a handsome guy in a quiet enough way. He stand at about 6' 1" and weighs about 175 pounds. He has a thin, lithe frame; one where his muscles are toned but not...screaming apparent like some guys. He has longish, light golden hair that can appear messy most days, but in an endearing way. In certain lights, his hair seems to darken in color while still remaining gold. His eyes are a clear enough blue that when in some light they appear to be a light silver, the color of his mother's eyes. His skin is pretty fair, despite his upbringing on a water-front property, but it's just something that runs in the family. He doesn't tan...just gets burned. All down his back are a series of scars he's gotten from his travels either through accidents or run-ins with Pokemon.
As far as clothing goes, Miles wears anything that's comfortable. What he likes best are jean with a button up long-sleeved shirt, usually white in color with flip-flops or tennis shoes. This promotes a casual and laid-back appearance, but that is exactly how Miles is. There is one constant to his apparel, however, and this is a bass clef forged out of black gold that he wears about his neck on silver chain. He won't ever talk about it, and keeps it tucked underneath his clothing, the chain being the only thing that's showing. Only a few have seen the pendant on the end of the chain.
Personality: People who have known Miles all his life know that he isn't the same as he used to be. There's an emptiness to him that haunts his eyes and a sadness that screams on the edges of his lips. His smile never reaches his eyes anymore and when he laughs, it's a hallow sound not really full of the genuine mirth he used to carry with him. But that is only if you knew him before, and there is no one left for him to know. Not here anyways. People here know him as a easy-going, laid-back young man. This isn't to say he's lazy though, not in the slightest. You don't become League Champion through laziness and slacking off. Once Miles puts his mind to something, you can be sure he'll see it through to the end or die trying.
Despite him being Champion, and the fact that many people find his personality amiable, he doesn't have a lot of close friends. He doesn't trust easily and so far he hasn't found anyone here fully worthy of his friendship. He take his job rather seriously though, and he knows that it's his duty to keep the region safe from any who wish to disrupt the flow of life. This he's done with lethal efficiency since he defeated and took over as Champion from the last one. He hates to lose at anything, and this coupled with his tendency to never let anyone in has quickly made him the most difficult Chamption in history to beat. Currently, no one has been able to.

History: Miles was born in Twinleaf town in the Sinnoh region only a few minutes before his twin sister, Malori. Though he was raised by his mother and step-father, Miles never felt like his family was a broken one. He had a sister who he adored, and a mother and father who he admired. Both his parents were strong, his mother once being the leader of a Ice Gym in a distant region. The only unhappy moments of his youth that Miles can recall are the weekends that he had to go and see his legitimate father. He absolutely hated the man, and spent those weekends either locked in his room or hanging out with Malori. It infuriated Miles how much his sister loved being with Vee, their birth father. In his mind, Vee abandoned them both the moment he let Amaya walk out the door.
Out of his entire family, Miles was closest to Malori and from an early age he was fiercely protective of her. They did everything together, and it was rare to see one without the other. Miles always had a harder time of making friends and doing things without Malori. He wasn't all that comfortable approaching others and talking to them. Not like he talked to Malori. He told her everything without any hesitation. He was a little lost when she started doing her own thing, hanging out with other people instead of Miles. His stepfather, Jordan, saw this and at Miles and Malori's 14th birthday, he gifted them both with a Riolu. Miles was thrilled and saw this as the beginning of the rest of his life. Now when Malori went off, Miles would train with his Riolu, the thought of becoming a strong trainer like his parents never far from his mind.
It wasn't a year later that Miles noticed a difference in his twin. She was becoming more secretive, and would come home with an empty look in her eyes. He tried to talk to her, and help her, but she would just push him away. Miles was at a loss. She had never done anything like that to him before, and in confusion and fear he retreated into himself. He hoped she would pull herself out of whatever was happening to her, and be his twin again. Every day he would try and get her to talk, but she would avoid the subject. When they were 18, he completely lost it. She chose to move in with their real father, and to Miles it was like a stab in the back. She would rather go hang out that pathetic excuse for a man than talk to her own twin? Well...that was just fine.
Unable to stay at home, the place seeming so empty without his twin, he left home and started on his travels. He didn't know exactly what he wanted, only that he wanted to be the best. He wanted to make a name for himself and let people know that Miles Lionel Calebs was a name to be respected. At first he tried to keep in touch with Malori, calling her almost every day. Slowly though, the communication stopped. She would never initiate it, and Miles was getting tired of being the only one trying. Even when they did talk, she would be vague and the emptiness in her tones broke Miles heart. He couldn't keep doing this to himself, not if he wanted to accomplish his goals. When he set his sights on becoming Champion, he worked hard and fast to achieve the goal, wanting his mother to see that she had done something right with at least one of her children.
After Malori left, their mother slowly became ill, pining for her only daughter and grieving that Malori wouldn't talk to her. That was another reason Miles left home...he couldn't stand to see his mother, once a strong and proud woman, so broken. He wanted to become champion for her, but a month before he achieved his goal...she died, withered away to nothing. So close to his goal, Miles stayed where he was, missing her funeral, and battled like he never battled before in order to become Champion in her honor. He was close to his mother, and despite her being gone he still talks to her on a daily basis, sending up prayers to wherever she is now.
