I wonder if it's the weather that's brought them all out. A tall man thought as he wandered between the trees. His green eyes followed a small flame shining against the green. Sol, his Charmeleon, was having great fun chasing a young Weedle he had just found. He stopped his slow gait and began to watch the Pokemon more closely. The small bug didn't seem to realize that its pursuer was just trying to play. It looked frightened, terrified, as though Sol was some evil monster determined to devour it. "That's enough Sol," he murmured, just loud enough for his Pokemon to hear him, "Look at how scared the poor thing is. I think you've played with it enough for now." "Char..." his Pokemon begrudgingly moaned before returning to his side. The Weedle hesitated for a moment after seeing his retreat then scampered off towards a bush, disappearing in the leaves. "Char." After the fiery lizard returned to his side, he again began to walk, his pace still slow. As he walked along the familiar path, his mind drifted in and out of reality. He watched a flock of Pidgey fly by, their brown feathers illuminated by the sunlight flickering in between the trees. He watched a young trainer frantically root around in their bag, trying to find an antidote to cure their poisoned Pokemon. He watched a Butterfree flit about the flowers, collecting the bright pollen from within them. It seems so peaceful, he thought as he observed all this happening. This place feels so detached from the world outside its woodland walls. Outside everyone is afraid of us, of what we'll do next. But here, here everything just is. They live. All of this made him feel strangely aware of the black, long-sleeved shirt he wore under his hoodie. The shirt with the large red 'R' emblazoned across its chest. Well, it's covered, so it shouldn't really make a difference. He let out a small sigh and glanced around the forest. I wonder if there are even any Pokemon worth my time in this lively place.
